VMware exec joins Darktrace; Zillow hires Twitter marketing leader; Oregon Venture Fund adds partner – GeekWire

— Seattle-area tech executive Denise Walter was appointed chief revenue officer at cybersecurity firm Darktrace.

Walter will join the company from cloud services giant VMware, where she was most recently a vice president of sales. She also served senior roles at Cisco, Openwave Systems, Sybase Software and Netscape Communications.

— Seattle-based cybersecurity firm WatchGuard Technologies hired Simon Yeo as senior vice president of operations. Yeo was previously chief information officer at Barracuda Networks and held executive roles at Upwork, Tout.com, Meebo and LoudCloud.

Oregon Venture Fund appointed Deepthi Madhava as partner. Madhava has been an investor with OVF since 2020 and as an investor-in-residence since January 2022. She previously spent more than 11 years at Deloitte, where she helped perform due diligence on behalf of private equity clients.

Bryce Hein is now chief marketing officer at San Francisco-based computer and network security company Sysdig. Hein previously spent nearly six years at Seattle security company ExtraHop, most recently as chief marketing officer. He departed ExtraHop in August.

Joseph Staten, partner and creative leader at Halo Infinite at 343 Industries, will depart to rejoin Xbox Publishing, Bloomberg reported. Staten was previously senior creative director for almost seven years at Microsoft.

Beverly Jackson is now vice president of brand and product marketing at Zillow, moving from Twitter, where she was vice president of global brand and consumer marketing.

Sue Iverson, chief people officer at Likewise, is planning to retire from the Bellevue, Wash.-based startup, which optimizes online streaming, reading and podcast experiences.

Alto Pharmacy CEO Alicia Boler Davis will join JP Morgan Chase’s board of directors. Boler Davis previously held executives roles at Amazon and General Motors and is a member of the board at General Mills.

Georgia Perez, previously executive vice president of strategic growth and emerging markets at real estate software company MoxiWorks, is now chief growth officer at Columbus, Ohio-based homeowner concierge platform MoveEasy.
